5 week Beginners Courses

These courses are designed to give you a basic understanding of the principles of Li style T’ai Chi as taught by the Taoist Arts Organisation

The course is run by Sally Grinhey who is assisted by Tony and Danny.  During the 5 weeks we aim to provide you with :

  • an understanding of what makes T’ai Chi different from other forms of movement and why health benefits are gained from practice;
  • knowledge of the first 12 moves of the T’ai Chi Form (this includes the basic stances, postures and techniques required);
  • at least 3 easy Chinese yoga exercises which are designed for specific ailments in mind;
  • tools for you to apply the principles of T’ai Chi in your everyday life; and
  • an enjoyable experience of T’ai Chi and a desire to learn more

By the end of the course you should :
  1. be able to demonstrate an understanding of the basic principles of T’ai Chi;
  2. be able to perform the first 12 moves of the Li style T’ai Chi Form;
  3. know at least 3 basic Chinese yoga exercises; and
  4. be able to apply some T’ai Chi principles to your everyday life.
